The Committee on European Integration recognized the Bill On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements and the Criminal Code of Ukraine regarding Enhancement of Responsibility for Violation of the Environmental Legislation as a Basis as such that comply with the European Legislation

The Bill (Reg. No.4341) increases the rates of penalties for the violation of environmental legislation, and amends certain clauses of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Infringements in order to coordinate them with effective legislation. The Committee upholds the idea of enhancing responsibility for the violation of environmental legislation and recommends that the Parliament adopts the Bill at the First

The committee emphasized that the Bill clauses do not contradict with the article 174 of the Agreement on Foundation of the European Cooperation and Resolution if the Council 2003/80/JHA on criminal-legal protection of the environment.
